My Thoughts on Bullying

Though I have never been bullied nor have I ever bullied anyone, my strong hatred from bullying still exists. It has always been an action that I dislike but when I realized that my younger sister was getting bullied at school, that dislike turned into hatred. Movies portray the people getting bullied as the so called geek, or the so called dumb person and the person bullying a huge jock. Never would I have thought, under these stereotypes, that my sister would be one to get bullied, much less expect those who were ones her friends to bully her. She would come home everyday and go straight to her bedroom and fall asleep, or so we thought. It wasn't until one afternoon that my brother called her out for dinner that we realized she would go to her room to cry. Of course, when we asked her why she was crying she did not tell us the truth right away. Instead she said it was a really bad headache. However, we noticed that this was going on everyday and after an hour of questioning she told us that a group of four boys and a girl had been bothering her everyday at school. When my mom asked her for the name of these students, she realized that these were friends of my sister who had even come over to the house just to play. We all became furious, and right the next day my mom went to school to talk to the teacher. They had to involve the principal and when being questioned, three of the five kids cried and all five were told to apologize to my sister. one of the boys even took her a little gift the following day as a form of apology. Even though in this case the principal's involvement intimidated the children, this is not always the case, especially when it is at middle schools or high schools. As much as schools try to prevent bullying, there is not really anything that they can do stop it 100 percent.

My Favorite Movie

Because I like two movies almost equally as much, I couldn't decide which one of the two was my favorite movie. These two are Frozen and Pitch Perfect. These movie are completely and totally different yet they both became my favorites. The one similarity that does exist between the two, however, is that they are both musicals, therefore there is a lot of singing done. Singing is one of my favorite hobbies, making most of my top movie choices musicals.  I loved Frozen because it teaches little girls that the Prince Charming is not always the one that has to rescue the Princess. A girl is just as capable as a guy to do the rescuing and most Disney have depicted the male as the only rescuer. However, this movie does not do such. Although, it was an animated movie and the target audience was children, it definitely taught even teenage girls a lesson. All the songs in this movie were catchy and just made me want to sing along, which is probably the main reason why I like it. Same thing goes for Pitch Perfect. All the acapella singing made the movie much more exciting and the dancing that went along with it only made it even better.
