Undeserved Misfortune

Undeserved misfortune is when a character, usually the protagonist, experiences something horrible that  they for no reason deserved. An example of this in a movie is in my all-time favorite movie, Frozen. Anna and Elsa are both shown to be innocent little girls. Else is cursed with her powers to freeze thing. Elsa never did anything wrong prior to the curse to have gotten it. Another example of undeserved misfortune in Frozen is when Anna is struck with Elsa's power to freeze and falls to the ground. The innocent little girl who was previously playing freely can no longer even move for quite some time. Her sister also is not allowed to play with her because she can hurt her again. Both of them experience undeserved misfortune.
